Union Railway Ministry to set up Rs 1 lakh crore Rashtriya Rail Sanraksha Kosh





    The Union Railway Ministry has decided to create a 1 lakh crore rupees safety fund named Rashtriya Rail Sanraksha Kosh to strengthen safety measures on the rail network to prevent accidents. It was announced by Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu in the Lok Sabha while replying to a debate on Demands for Grants for Railways for 2016-17. In this regard Union Railway Ministry has forwarded a proposal to the Union Finance Ministry for approval. Key facts The Rashtriya Rail Sanraksha Kosh will be a non-lapsable fund which will be utilized for safety measures. The fund will help Indian Railways to accomplish its zero-accident mission by strengthening the safety measures on the rail network in a comprehensive way. Under this fund, envisaged works like track renewal and up gradation, bridge rehabilitation, elimination of level-crossings, construction of road over bridges/road under bridges will be under taken. It will be also used for replacement and improvement of signaling system, improvement and up gradation of rolling stock, replacement of electrical assets and human resource development.
            The committee is likely to submit its report by December 31 this year, Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha said in written reply.

  "Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) has constituted a committee for putting up the consolidated proposals for creation of a 'Rashtriya Rail Sanraksha Kosh (RRSK) amounting to Rs 1,10,237 crore," he said.

  The committee consists of Executive Director/Civil Engineering (Planning), Railway Board as convener and Executive Directors of Finance Expenditure, Signal (Development), Electrical Energy Management, Mechanical Engineering (Project), Directorates of Railway Board as its members.

TCS, UK's top employer



India's Tata Consultancy Services(TCS), a leading global IT, consulting and business solutions firm, said on Monday it has been recognised as the UK's top employer by a certification body for the second time in a row.



TCS is one of just 70 employers to receive a Top Employers accreditation by the Top Employers Institute based on in-depth research into nine core HR criteria - talent strategy, workforce planning, on-boarding, learning and development, performance management, leadership development, career and succession management, compensation and benefits and company culture, the company said in a release.




Established in 1991, the 'Top Employers' certification is designed to identify and recognise the world's leading organisations in the field of HR management and employee conditions.


The award of the certification is based on an industry-leading research methodology, conducted by the Top Employers Institute and audited by Grant Thornton.
